Jude Bellingham has revealed his ambitions to stay at Real Madrid for over a decade in a blow to supporters hoping to see the Englishman in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old midfielder produced another inspiring display for the Three Lions in Tuesday’s dominant victory over Italy at Wembley, helping England secure their place in next year’s European Championship.

He orchestrated England’s attacks in the victory over Luciano Spalletti’s side with team-mates and former players heaping praise on his performance afterwards.

Bellingham will now head back to Madrid for the resumption of the LaLiga season and has no plans to leave the Spanish capital any time soon after revealing his long-term hopes of staying there.

Liverpool were previously heavily linked with the midfield prodigy but pulled out of the race due to price reasons – and he eventually joined Carlo Ancelotti’s side in a £113m deal from Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking after his recent scintillating performance for Gareth Southgate’s side, Bellingham stated on Channel 4: ‘I am getting a little better each time I play.

‘It was a really good night for us, we all remember what happened a few years ago when they played us here. You always aim for progression. We are heading in the right direction and a very important win for us.

‘I am loving football at the minute. My management at club and country are giving me freedom to play it how I see it.

‘Since the last few months I have been really working on my timing getting into the box and as I am arriving I am arriving with a big hunger.

‘With the big transfer the fact is I have to deliver, whether it is a goal or assist or a match-winning performance.

‘This is the club I want to be at for the next 10 to 15 years of my life. I am loving it there. Carlo basically said this position is where he sees me.’

He further explained working with the likes of former Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric, Germany World Cup champion Toni Kroos and other world class stars at Madrid is aiding his development.

‘One hundred per cent [it improves you]. When you are around those mentalities and quality of players every day, it takes you to a new level mentally, physically and technically.’

Despite his youthful age, Bellingham has already gained 27 senior caps for England and is now an almost guaranteed starter in England’s European Championship squad barring any injury.

Southgate further boasted about his midfield star while celebrating England’s crucial victory, adding: ‘I just think the way he carries himself and the way he plays on the field shows that. He’s had that since he walked through the door, frankly.

‘That belief, that willingness to engage with the crowd, they are rare traits in a player so young.’
