Jude Bellingham equals Ronaldo record as fans hail ‘next Ballon d’Or winner’
Jude Bellingham is now part of an exclusive club with Cristiano Ronaldo after his latest brilliant display for Real Madrid.
Bellingham scored his ninth and 10th goal of the season for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in a resounding 4-0 victory over Girona. Lots of pressure was put on his young shoulders when he made his £115million move to the Bernabeu from Borussia Dortmund.
However, he is making life wearing Zinedine Zidane’s iconic No.5 shirt look like a doddle, contributing 10 goals and three assists in his first 10 appearances in all competitions. The 20-year-old’s jaw-dropping numbers have even seen him level a record made by Ronaldo, after he joined the Spanish giants for £80m in 2009.

Bellingham’s second goal in Real’s 4-0 victory over Osasuna saw him become the first player since the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to score 10 goals in his first 10 matches for the club. After his eye-watering start to life in the Spanish capital, fans think Bellingham is destined to one day win the Ballon d’Or.
“Jude is on course to surpass David Beckham’s legend status within a couple months,” one fan wrote, comparing him to the former England captain. “How is he so calm in the box… Jude ballon d'or looking very real right now,” a second admirer tweeted.

“Tenth goal in 10 games for the biggest club in the world at 20 years old. Safe,” laughed another fan. A particularly impressed fan also wrote: “Bro just scoring and scoring for fun right now. That’s his game tho! Great mover and well done for adapting his game to become more of a secondary striker.
Confidence has been flowing through the England midfielder’s veins. Earlier in the week, he played a starring role in the reigning Champions League winner’s 3-2 victory over Napoli. He brought the ball forward, chopped past two Napoli defenders and slotted his second Champions League goal in two games, before stretching out both his arms and staring at the intimidating Neapolitan fans.
"What is surprising about Bellingham is that he is only 20. It feels like he's 30,” Ancelotti said in his post-match press conference. “For his character, his personality. He is always focused on the match, he knows what he needs to do, and this is rare in a 20-year-old player.
“Then you have all his quality, his physical strength, his skills. It is surprising, we are all a bit surprised."
