Jamie Vardy emulated Emmanuel Adebayor's s***house celebration as he ran the length of the pitch after scoring for Leicester City.

The veteran striker, 36, netted the only goal of the game against Bristol City on Saturday (September 23) afternoon to send the Foxes top of the Championship table. He'd been getting stick off the away fans at the King Power throughout the match.

They were singing "Jamie Vardy, your wife is a grass" in reference to Rebekah's high-profile libel court case against Coleen Rooney. So in true Vardy fashion, he headed straight towards them after converting his second-half penalty.

Running the length of the pitch, he emulated Adebayor's infamous celebration for Manchester City against former side Arsenal in February 2009, pointing to the name on his back of his shirt before standing with his arms outstretched.

"Jamie Vardy pulling an Adebayor by running the full length of the pitch," tweeted one fan, with another echoing: "Jamie Vardy doing an Adebayor."

A third joked: "Jamie Adebayor Vardy." While a fourth pleaded: "More Vardy's and Adebayor's please."

Leicester held on to claim their seventh win in the opening eight league games of the season, with boss Enzo Maresca delighted with what he saw from his players.

"Perfect performance or almost perfect," he said post-match. Since minute one we dominated the game.

"We play on the opposite side and as I always said when they sit all their 10, 11 players in behind it's never easy to find a goal but at the end we deserved it.

"To win every game is very important but especially today after two wins away was very important and also against a tough team.

"They were in a good moment at the end [of the first half] but as I said when you are playing there and you need to find a goal found in the second half it was very good."
