James Maddison responds in brutal fashion to Saka copying his darts celebration
Tottenham's James Maddison hit back at Arsenal rival Bukayo Saka in light-hearted fashion for copying his darts celebration.
England team-mates Saka, 22, and Maddison, 26, have become good friends thanks to their time together with the national team. But they had to put that to one side on Sunday for their first north London derby meeting since Maddison joined Spurs in the summer.
Gunners fan-favourite Saka opened the scoring with a deflected long-range effort, which he celebrated by mimicking Maddison’s dart-throw celebration. And the forward did the celebration again after his penalty made it 2-1 in the second-half.

Saka’s spectacular trolling understandably sent fans wild as they both applauded and raged at his cheeky dig, depending on which side their allegiances lay. But Maddison saw the funny side after the game finished at 2-2.
The Spurs playmaker in his post-match interview explained how Saka’s celebration came after some friendly trash-talking between the pair while at St. George’s Park with England. And he made sure to get his own jibe in.

Maddison said: "Me and Bukayo had a bit of banter and a bit of trash talking, if you like, on international duty. I got told he did the darts celebration. He must have still been doing it when I turned him for the first goal, so I'll have a little word with him in there.”

The former Leicester man was referencing his assist for Son Heung-Min’s first goal in the 42nd minute, having spun past Saka out wide. The South Korean levelled the score again in the 55th, netting just one minute after Saka converted his penalty.
That was not the end of the trash-talking, however. Having been asked if he would take on Saka at Alexandra Palace in a darts contest by a Sky Sports reporter, Maddison chuckled, before adding: “His action was terrible though wasn’t it?”
