‘I dropped down divisions after leaving Man Utd – now I’m making LaLiga history’
Largie Ramazani's bold decision to leave Manchester United is paying dividends with his name now written into LaLiga history.
The 22-year-old winger raised eyebrows when he opted not to sign a new contract at Old Trafford at the end of the 2019/20 season having impressed in their youth ranks and made his senior debut in a Europa League tie.
United claimed it was due to excessive wage demands, but Ramazani wanted regular first-team minutes – which he found by making the drop down to the second tier of Spanish football, signing for Almeria.

Eight goals in his second year helped them earn promotion to the top flight, and they avoided relegation by a point last season. A tough start to the new campaign sees them languishing bottom of the table with just three points from 11 games.
But Ramazani continues to be a shining light in the side and became the first-ever LaLiga player to record a hat-trick of assists in a 3-3 draw with Granada last month. His club performances have also seen him rack up eight appearances for Belgium's Under-21s.

While some players may be dreaming of a move away in his situation, especially given his three years with the Red Devils, Ramazani is committed to helping Almeria get out of the hole they find themselves.
“I want to help the team and show that I am a first-division player,” he told his club's media team in September, via Mundo Deportivo. "I have the capacity to do better.
"I don’t have any preferred position. What I want is to play and help the team as much as possible. I want to become a legend at Almeria."
He believes they'll turn things around, adding: “I feel good, happy and confident. It is true that we have not started the league well, but we have done many things well.
"There are details to correct, and we are working on it. We are not worried because there is a lot left, we have a good squad, and we are going to show our true level of play soon."
