Gary Lineker films Micah Richards snoring away and asks pundit about ‘night out’

Gary Lineker couldn't help but poke fun at Micah Richards as he was snoring away on a sofa.

Both men are currently out in Qatar covering the World Cup for the BBC. Match of the Day anchor Lineker's on his usual hosting duties, while Richards is one of their pundits having rapidly become a fan favourite in recent years.

With the group games coming thick and fast since the tournament kicked off at the weekend, there's been little time for rest – which has clearly caught up with Richards.

Lineker shared a video of him sleeping this morning (November 23) with the caption: "Night out, @MicahRichards?"

The former Manchester City defender didn't address the question, replying only with sweating emojis and a pig nose emoji in reference to his loud snoring.

Ironically, ITV's coverage of the first game of the day, Morocco's goalless draw with Croatia, could be heard in the background of the clip.

Is Richards currently the best pundit? Let us know in the comments section.

Lineker and Richards have formed good chemistry since they began working alongside each other and they do the MOTD Top 10 podcast together alongside Alan Shearer.

Poor Richards was on the receiving end of the banter again earlier this week before England kicked off their World Cup campaign with a 6-2 win against Iran.

As Lineker was introducing the pundits, he said: "Here at the Khalifa Stadium we are joined by two former England captains in Alan Shearer and Rio Ferdinand.

“And after Fabio Capello in 2010 and Roy Hodgson in 2014 both left him out, finally, it’s a World Cup debut for Micah Richards.”

Richards took it in good humour, shaking the hands of his colleagues and replying: "I’m here! Thank you, thank you."

Thankfully for him, he was able to catch up on his sleep as Ferdinand, Alex Scott and Vincent Kompany covered Belgium's 1-0 win over Canada this evening.
