  • Those who make it into the upper echelons of football will likely find themselves with an enviable bank account.

    However, plenty of players walk away from the sport with plenty of high numbers on their bank balance but not a single clue of what to do with their wealth. Some let it flitter away on bad investments and rather expensive purchases, while others consolidate their wealth by sitting pretty and maybe going into television punditry.

    Then there are players who are sharp enough to use the hefty financial launchpad they assembled themselves and become even richer than their days kicking a bag of air around a field.
