Faroese minnows defy odds again with incredible result vs French giants Lille
Faroe Islands minnows KI Klaksvik have pulled up trees in Europe again as they held French giants Lille to a goalless draw in Torshavn.
The Faroese side created history over the summer as they battled through the qualification process to become the first side from the archipelago to make the group stages. However, they were handed a dose of reality in their opening clash with Slovan Bratislava.
Lille were the first side to travel to the Danish islands, only to be frustrated by the minnows. The French's side litany of stars were unable to unlock the stoic defence – returning to France with just one point.

It was just two season's ago that Lille pipped PSG to the post to crown themselves kings of France. However, the Northern French side have failed to hit those highs again.
Klaksvik's standout star of their tournament so far has been striker Arni Frederiksberg – who was finding the net with apparent ease in the qualifiers. However, after his European exploits, Frederiksberg heads home to his 9-5 – where he sells frozen pizza's, mainly to Norway.

KI Klaksvik will now welcome Slovenian side Olimpija Ljubljana at the end of the month before travelling to central Europe for the reverse fixture.
However, when Klaksvik travel to Slovenia their domestic season will have come to a close – leaving the Faroese side with just Europa Conference League fixtures to focus on until their season kicks off again in March.
