Ex-Celtic ace slams fans for Palestine flags ‘supporting a terror organisation’
An Israeli former Celtic player has angrily condemned the club's fans after pro-Palestinian banners were seen flying in the home end at Celtic Park on Saturday.
Israel has declared a state of war in response to the deadly attacks orchestrated by Palestinian militant group Hamas over the weekend. Hundreds have been killed and thousands more have been injured following a series of devastating attacks on Israeli territories, and the subsequent retaliatory strikes that followed.
Mere hours after the attack, dozens of Palestine flags, as well as banners featuring the words 'Free Palestine' and 'Victory for the resistance' were seen flying during Celtic's clash with Kilmarnock – a stunt reportedly organised by the club's ultras, know as the Green Brigade. Taking to Instagram, ex-Hoops star Nir Bitton hit out at the supporters responsible, slamming them for "supporting a terror organisation".

"Shame on you," he wrote. "Yes free Gaza from Hamas not from Israel. Supporting terror organisation [sic] who's proudly celebrating the slaughtering of families is absolutely crazy!! Embarrassing."
The 31-year-old, who made just shy of 250 appearances for Celtic between 2013 and 2022, insisted that said supporters had "zero clue about the conflict" and encouraged them to "educate themselves". He continued: "Most of you don't even know where Israel is!
"You have zero clue about the conflict and still act like you know everything. As a father of three kids I want to see how you react when your innocent kids getting slaughtered [sic] and kidnapped in front of your eyes," he added.
"And please don't tell me this is what Israel does to Palestinians because this is far from being true. Stop being brainwashed and educate yourself with facts!!"
