Evra says ‘something wrong’ at Man Utd and slams Rashford for ‘giving up’
Patrice Evra is sure something is wrong at Manchester United and has slammed Marcus Rashford’s work ethic.
The Red Devils’ season has lurched from one disaster to another, with crisis off the pitch as well as one it. Erik ten Hag’s side have a torrid record against sides in the top half of the Premier League while a number of players have been accused of not pulling their weight.
One of those is homegrown forward Rashford, who has come in for stinging criticism since Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Newcastle, where he was subbed off on the hour mark. Rashford was then benched for tonight’s home clash with Chelsea.

Patrice Evra has joined the list of former players to wade into the club’s woes. Speaking ahead of the Chelsea game, the French defender slammed players for “giving up” at St James’ and singled out Rashford.
“Old Trafford has lost the fear factor,” he said on Amazon Prime. “I was quite pleased with the performance in the Champions League [against Galatasaray], but against Newcastle it was unprofessional, players didn't want to be on the pitch.

“Rashford – I remember Giggsy [Ryan Giggs] at 39 he wouldn't give up like that. There's something wrong. I don't know if it's about the communication. Every successful team, they run, that's the basics. That's what they're not doing right now.”
Reports of division in the camp and that at least half the squad had lost faith in Ten Hag’s methods led to several media outlets, including the Daily Star, being banned from press conferences.
United were unhappy not to have been given a right to reply to the reports that Ten Hag dismissed, with the Dutchman coming out fighting and preaching about togetherness before hosting Chelsea.
