Chelsea target Erling Haaland is ‘very interested’ in a move to Stamford Bridge, it has been claimed. The Borussia Dortmund star was in outstanding form last season, scoring 40 goals across all competitions. And the Blues are determined to make him their replacement for Tammy Abraham, who is expected to be sold.
Chelsea won the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel last term, beating Manchester City 1-0 in the final.
But, despite that, the Blues know more reinforcements are needed if they’re to dethrone Pep Guardiola’s side as Premier League champions next time out.
For Chelsea, their dream target is Haaland. After seeing the 20-year-old score 40 goals last term, it’s certainly understandable why he’s been earmarked as a priority acquisition.
Borussia Dortmund’s decision to sell Jadon Sancho to Manchester United means that, at the current time of writing, the Bundesliga giants don’t want to lose another prized asset.
But Eurosport’s Dean Jones, speaking on The Football Terrace podcast, has claimed the Norway international is ‘very interested’ in a move to west London – with Tuchel’s appointment making the club appealing.

“Chelsea have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes,” said Jones.
“In the case of Haaland. He’s interested in Chelsea, which is interesting in itself because that wasn’t the case a year ago, probably not even a few months ago.
“He was always thinking he’d join a status club next and Chelsea didn’t really fit in to where he thought he needed to be heading.
“Suddenly they’ve got Tuchel as a coach, they’ve won the Champions League. The club has changed and so has their outlook for the next few seasons.
“So somebody like Haaland is looking at Chelsea and thinking ‘okay this doesn’t have to be a club i’m at for 10 years, it’s a club I can be at for three years then I can go on to those dream clubs.’”

Chelsea aren’t the only club to have been linked with Haaland.
United themselves are also admirers, despite signing Sancho, but are expected to go after the striker next summer instead.
Barcelona would love to sign Haaland but, with the club’s finances looking dire at present, stand very little chance of completing a deal.
And Real Madrid’s priority is Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe, instead of Haaland.
Speaking in May, the Dortmund striker insisted he hadn’t made a decision on his next club and would be ‘respectful’ to his current employers as speculation swirls.
“I have not taken a position on that,” he said.
“After this international break I will go on vacation, and then I will report for pre-season.”
Haaland also admitted in an interview with the Telegraph that his dream would be to win the Champions League one day, having been the tournament’s top scorer last term.
“To win the Champions League one day,” he said.
“Hopefully I can lift that trophy and that really would be, well, amazing.
“For as long as I can remember, even when I was a really young kid, I was watching the Champions League.
“There were great teams with huge legends scoring goals. So that became my dream.
“My dream was to play in the Champions League, to score in the Champions League.
“You know that is where the best players play and that’s where the best players belong.”
