Erik ten Hag shares mood inside Man Utd dressing room ahead of tough run
Everton will create hostile atmosphere ahead of Man Utd clash | Football Digest
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag insists his squad has the ‘personality’ and ‘character’ to attack a tough trio of away fixtures. The Red Devils face a fired-up Everton on Sunday before a must-win Champions League clash with Galatasaray followed by a trip to Newcastle.
Everton, buoyed by an improved run of form, have been hit with the 10-point deduction and will be desperate to scrape any points they can find. A home crowd angered by the punishment could spur the Toffees on to success.
Visits to Galatasaray and Newcastle will raise questions over whether this brittle United team can cope in feisty atmospheres, having fallen to a dismal defeat in Copenhagen in their last European outing.
Ten Hag is under pressure to turn around United’s form having overseen nine defeats in 18 matches this season. “You could see that this team has personality and character in hostile environments, like in Copenhagen,” Ten Hag said in an interview with United’s website.
“We deal with it. I feel quite comfortable away from home. We are, say, one third through the season. It was a tough start, as we’ve seen, but I think we’re catching up.

“From the last five games, we’ve won four. So we’re in a good mood and I think we’re heading in the right direction.
“Before we go into that intense programme in December, I think we’re building confidence. We’re building strong beliefs and we’re also building some routines.
“Now we hope we can more or less stay with the same line-up or with 12 to 14 players, because I think so far that was our difficulty. Every time we had to change and we didn’t develop routines.”

Despite criticism of how United have performed in away matches this term, Ten Hag insists his side’s form on the road is ‘very good’. He has urged his players to take confidence into trips to Galatasaray and Newcastle.
“All games are very important, but our away record this season so far is very good,” Ten Hag continued. “We can take confidence and strong belief into those games. But we need to go from game to game, the first game is the most important – Everton – and we’re looking forward to it.”
