Eden Hazard has given Chelsea an injury scare ahead of a huge week for Maurizio Sarri’s title challengers.
Hazard, 27, suffered a back injury in the draw with Manchester United and is a doubt for the Europa League tie with Bate Borisov on Thursday night and trip to Burnley three days later.
Belgium star Hazard was given some rough treatment by United with Nemanja Matic and Ashley Young both getting booked for fouls on Chelsea ’s No10.
Hazard completed the 90 minutes but woke up on Sunday morning and found his movement restricted which will be a major concern for Chelsea.
Hazard has been in brilliant form and any lay-off will be a worry for Chelsea especially with Alvaro Morata struggling so badly.
Ex-Chelsea player Ruud Gullit has even claimed Hazard and Willian do not trust striker Morata enough to pass to him on the pitch.
Gullit told beIN Sports: “His team-mates don’t come into any positions where they create anything for him. The worst part is you can see Willian and Hazard always dribble inside because they don’t trust him.
“But also when the crosses are in, I think there was a moment in the first half where you asked ‘where is Morata’ he wasn’t there. So they don’t trust him.”
Chelsea take on BATE Borisov in the Europa League having won both of their matches in the competition so far.
Blues boss Sarri is likely to utilise his squad for the encounter at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
Pedro came off the bench in the draw with Manchester United on Saturday and will hope to start.
The likes of Victor Moses, Cesc Fabregas and Ross Barkley will also hope to start for Chelsea ahead of a hectic fixture list of six matches in 18 days for Sarri’s unbeaten side.
