Demarai Gray fires parting shot at Everton boss Sean Dyche in explosive post
Demarai Gray has sparked controversy on social media after taking an apparent dig at Everton boss Sean Dyche. The 27-year-old has been absent from all of Everton’s matches to start the season as reports continued to link him with a move away from the club.
He looked on the verge of joining Fulham on deadline day, but a deal fell through at the last minute. With the Premier League transfer now closed, Gray’s only hope of a move elsewhere is to move outside of Europe.
Turkish side Besiktas and a host of clubs in Saudi Arabia are said to be interested in the winger. But any chance of Gray winning back a place in Everton’s squad appears to have been squashed by the player himself.
The Jamaica international appears to have burned all bridges with Everton with his explosive post on Instagram, seemingly in a dig at Dyche for not playing him more.
“Everton fans have always been great with me but it’s so difficult to play for someone who don’t show you respect as a person,” Gray wrote on Instagram. According to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, Gray’s post comes after Everton told Al Ettifaq they’re not prepared to sell up.
Dyche admitted earlier this week that part of the winger’s omission from his matchday squads was down to the transfer speculation. But the Everton boss did give Gray a route back into his side, insisting the international break would be a good opportunity to change his situation.
When asked why Gray had been absent from matchday squads this season, Dyce said: “It was a bit of everything — his fitness, his fitness to play in the side, the situation around him and all of the noise.

“Hopefully over the next couple of weeks that will become clear and he will get himself fit as a starting point.”
But Gray’s social media post will raise further questions on whether he’s able to have a future at Goodison Park. Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab have expressed an interest in signing the winger and they’re still able to sign players for a few more days.
A change in ownership at the Saudi side is said to have stalled their interest in signing Gray, but other clubs in the Gulf state are in the mix to sign him. But Everton are light of options in the wide areas with Alex Iwobi being sold to Fulham and Tom Cannon joining Leicester.
