Dele Alli hints at PSG move with Instagram activity on day Pochettino announced

Tottenham outcast Dele Alli has dropped a major hint that he could reunite with Mauricio Pochettino at Paris St-Germain this month.

Pochettino has been appointed PSG boss following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel, with the French champions officially confirming their former midfielder as their new manager on Saturday.

It is the Argentine’s first job since being sacked by Spurs in November 2019, just five months after he guided them to a first ever Champions League final.

And reports suggest Alli could be set to link up with his old gaffer in the French capital at some point this month.

The 24-year-old has been frozen out by Jose Mourinho in north London this season, making just 11 appearances in all competitions for Spurs.

As a result, he has been tipped to leave the club on loan in the January transfer window – and PSG were understood to be interested long before Pochettino’s appointment.

Now he has arrived at the Parc des Princes reports linking Alli with a move are doing the rounds once more, and the player’s recent social-media activity has only added fuel to the flames.

Alli has made his feelings known about Pochettino joining PSG by liking BT Sport’s Instagram post about his appointment.

The England midfielder enjoyed his best years playing under him, registering 18 goals in 36 appearances for Spurs as they narrowly missed out on the Premier League title in 2016/17.

He has failed to enjoy the same goalscoring success in the four seasons which have followed, especially after falling out of favour under Mourinho this term.

Alli was an unused substitute in Spurs’ last two Premier League outings, with his most recent appearance coming in their Carabao Cup quarter-final win away at Stoke.
