Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez went full Fernando Torres with a miss of the season contender in the Europa League.
Having impressed and scored a fine goal in the first-half, the Uruguayan looked certain to score a second after beating his defender with sublime footwork and rounding goalkeeper Guillaume Restes.
The Anfield crowd were on their feet awaiting the fourth goal of the evening – but the 24-year-old fell to his knees in agony after his shot hit the post even though Ryan Gravenberch found the net seconds later.

The miss was eerily reminiscent of former Liverpool hero Torres after he left the club to join Chelsea, scoring against Manchester United before missing the target with an open goal of his own.
One fan wrote on X: "Nunez is the new Fernando Torres reincarnated." A second added: "Maybe Nunez really is the new Torres."
A third posted: "If you really look closely, Nunez is basically the Chelsea version of Fernando Torres. Always did everything right, just couldn’t score for no reason."

A fourth said: "Nunez doing his best Torres impression my striker." A fifth agreed: "Fernando Torres esque from Nunez."
The jaw-dropping miss comes during an improved run of form for the former Benfica hero who scored 15 goals last season.
The £64million signing faced criticism last time out while showing glimpses of his true striking ability.

Before the fixture, Jurgen Klopp said that the forward had now fully adjusted to life in Liverpool and he so nearly scored a brace to prove it.
Liverpool ran out 5-1 winners with Diogo Jota, Wataru Endo and the inevitable Mohamed Salah also netting for the hosts and Thijs Dallinga for the visitors.
The win leaves Klopp's side top with nine points following three wins from three, with Nunez missing his chance to score a sixth goal from 12 fixtures.
