Crystal Palace vs Southampton kick-off time, TV and live stream information

Crystal Palace ended last season on a dismal run of form, losing seven of their final eight games.

They’ll be looking to start their 2020/21 Premier League campaign on a much better note, and welcome Southampton to Selhurst Park for their opening game.

The Saints were unbeaten in their last seven matches of last season, on their way to an 11th place finish in the table.

Roy Hodgson has looked to his London rivals for added firepower this summer, signing Eberechi Eze from Queens Park Rangers for £16million and welcoming back Chelsea ’s Michy Batshuayi for a second loan spell.

Saints boss Ralph Hasenhüttl has so far strengthened his defence, signing Kyle Walker-Peters on a permanent deal from Tottenham Hotspur and Mohammed Salisu from Real Valladolid.

Up front Danny Ings will be looking to pick up where he left off last season, when he scored 22 goals, one behind Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy.

Crystal Palace vs Southampton odds

There's money to be made at Selhurst Park, if you can work out whether 11/5 Palace or 13/10 Southampton are going to make the winning start.

It's surprising to see Palace slight favourites with thepools.com.

They won't benefit from the usually partisan home atmosphere and finished last season – which was only seven weeks ago – with a shocking one point from their final eight Premier League games.

They also traditionally start slowly, winning only one of their last four opening PL matches.

Southampton, on the other hand, closed the 2019/20 season unbeaten in seven PL games (W4, D3), despite losing at half-time in three of them.

Saints are the pick – and with Danny Ings finishing last season with seven goals in nine PL fixtures for Southampton and with three goals against Palace already in his career he's a solid 17/4 first scorer tip.
