Crystal Palace have been dealt a major blow amid fears Eberechi Eze is set to miss six weeks with a hamstring injury, Mail Sport understands.
The news will also arrive as a disappointment to England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of Thursday’s squad announcement for the matches against Australia and Italy.
Eze has had an excellent start to the season and has helped spearhead Palace’s attack in the absence of departed Wilfried Zaha and injured Michael Olise.
The details of how he suffered the injury are unclear – but sources have indicated Eze is set to miss around six weeks after suffering an injury.
Eze played the majority of Palace’s shock 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, before he was replaced with two minutes to go.

Eze’s absence will be a big blow to Roy Hodgson’s side during the upcoming weeks
News of his injury comes days before Gareth Southgate was due to announce his England squad for their matches against Australia and Italy
Until then, Eze had played every minute in the Premier League during the opening stages of the new season.
After his excellent start to the season, there would have been a solid chance of the 25-year-old being selected for England’s upcoming games.
He made his international debut against Malta back in June, and also made their most recent squad, coming off the bench in England’s 3-1 victory over Scotland.
Eze’s injury record has largely been faultless since an Achilles injury which kept him out for six months in 2021.
He played in all of Crystal Palace’s 38 Premier League games last season, and will be a big miss for Roy Hodgson’s side in the upcoming weeks.
