Fuming Everton fans are demanding Frank Lampard is sacked as club manager with the Blues firmly rooted inside the Premier League relegation zone following Saturday’s loss to West Ham.

Lampard’s time in charge of the Blues could be up after their most recent disappointing defeat with pressure heavily mounting on the Everton board to remove the Englishman from his post.

The Toffees record of never being relegated from the English top-flight is in serious doubt having lost six of their last seven league matches and showing few signs of improvement.

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright have also been heavily criticised by supporters for poor recruitment, high managerial turnover, and their handling of the club in recent seasons.

However, immediate scrutiny in the wake of an 11th league defeat of the season focuses mainly on Lampard with frustrated fans calling for a new manager to be appointed.

Lampard cut a downtrodden character in the dugout against West Ham

Former professional boxer and passionate Everton fan Tony Bellow ranted on social media after Saturday’s away defeat in the capital, writing: ‘Another away end filled with fans!! Another poor display!! Top to bottom we are in the s**** and it’s truly frightening!! Let’s just be brutally honest it’s not good enough.. 1 win in 14 games!

One supporter called for an imminent change to be made, insisting that Lampard’s situation at Goodison Park has turned ‘toxic’, writing: ‘Frank Lampard can’t continue at Everton. Give it to a new manager and allow them half a season to try and turn things around. The longer he stays – the more toxic it gets.

Others suggested that the 44-year-old already knows his fate after defeat in the capital, highlighting that Everton players ‘aren’t playing’ for the manager or buying into his vision.

Another tweet read: ‘Think Lampard will be out by Monday lunchtime, the players clearly aren’t playing for him and a number of them went straight down the tunnel and didn’t go to applaud the travelling fans.

Some believe Lampard should have already been removed from the Everton dugout and labelled the decision for him to still be in charge as ‘negligence from the board’.

Should Everton fire the Englishman it will mark a fourth successive managerial change in three years at the Merseyside club.

Ex-Burnley boss Sean Dyche has been hinted at as a possible replacement should Lampard leave the Blues before the end of the season.

Another said: ‘I’m saying it now. Dyche would keep us up.
