Ben White’s ‘fully transformed’ into iconic Benidorm character with new look

Arsenal's Ben White has transformed into legendary Benidorm character Marge Harvey thanks to his new platinum locks.

The defender debuted the surprising look after the international break as his team-mates and fans alike were stunned at his new hairstyle. Ditching his natural brunette do, the 26-year-old looked as confident as ever when running out for training last week as Reiss Nelson and Mohamed Elneny couldn't help but laugh at the bold move by White.

He's since played in his first Premier League game with his new look as Arsenal fought from 2-0 down to clinch a point in their 2-2 draw with Chelsea over the weekend. White played all 90 minutes – as he has done for every league game this season – as fans decided to scour for lookalikes, with some suggesting Benidorm's Madge Harvey (who was played on the hit ITV show by 85-year-old actress Sheila Reid) as the final form of the defender's platinum locks.

One X user wrote: "Why does Ben White look exactly like Madge Harvey off Benidorm", while another called the comparison: "F***ing hilarious". Another said the England international looks like a "freak" as they added: "Brilliant! I thought it was just me that thought he was a freak. First game he reminded me of Neil's tan when doing the dancefloor dance in the Inbetweeners".

White has been ever-present for Arsenal this season as reports state that a new deal with the North London club is to be discussed who are eager to tie down the defender for the next few years. During an interview prior to the Chelsea clash, the former Brighton defender said he sees his future at the Emirates.

"I want to stay at Arsenal for as long as I can, stay at the highest level and push this club back to where it needs to be. Whenever that's spoken about, it's an amazing feeling that someone wants you. I've still got a few years left on my current contract, so even to be speaking about it is a nice feeling."

He stated that his wife, Milly White, being from the area is "ideal" for her and said Arsenal is the favourite club he's been at during his career. "My wife is from around here, so it's ideal for her, and it's just an amazing club to come into every day. I think I can take things from all the clubs I've been at, but this is by far my favourite."
