Bayern Munich ‘make their move for Tottenham target Julian Nagelsmann to replace outgoing Hansi Flick… but RB Leipzig demand £26MILLION’ to part ways with their in-demand boss
- Bayern Munich are expected to be after a new head coach this summer
- Hansi Flick has been strongly linked with the vacant Germany job next season
- Bayern have reportedly begun a move to appoint Julian Nagelsmann as coach
- The RB Leipzig man, 33, is considered to be one of Europe’s top young coaches
- Nagelsmann was also the early favourite to become Tottenham’s new coach
Bayern Munich are making an offer to try and appoint RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann as their new coach for next season, according to reports.
Current Bayern head coach Hansi Flick announced earlier this month that he wants his contract terminated at the end of the season, with last season’s treble-winning manager strongly linked to the German national team role.
Nagelsmann, 33, is considered to be one of the top young coaches in the world having made RB Leipzig one of the top German sides in recent years, as well as Champions League semi-finalists last season.

And according to Goal, Leipzig will demand a world-record £26million compensation fee to prize Nagelsmann away from the club and into the hands of perennial German champions Bayern.
RB Leipzig have already let defender Dayot Upamecano join Bayern Munich this summer for £38.5million, with the 22-year-old centre-back signing a five-year deal with the club.
Leipzig are also expecting fellow defender Ibrahima Konate to quit the club with Liverpool finalising a £30.5million deal for the player – the exact fee of his release clause.
The news that Bayern are moving towards Nagelsmann would come as a blow to Daniel Levy and Tottenham, with the young German one of the names strongly linked to the Spurs head coach role following Jose Mourinho’s sacking this week.

Spurs currently have head of player development Ryan Mason in charge on an interim basis, with Brendan Rodgers, Maurizio Sarri and Rafa Benitez among the names linked to the vacant position in north London.
But Bayern appear to be the lookout for a new head coach as well after Flick shocked the club by effectively announcing his desire to leave after his side beat Wolfsburg earlier this month.
Flick told reporters on April 17: ‘I told the team today that I informed the club during the week, after the game in Paris, I would like to terminate my contract at the end of the season.’
However, Bayern insisted that Flick had not officially resigned or been let go from his head coach role – with talks between the two parties now expected to take place in the coming days.

Before the Wolfsburg game, the German champions had made an agreement with Flick to discuss his future after the Mainz fixture on Saturday. Bayern were beaten 2-1 in that fixture which has made them wait in their quest to become champions for another week.
Flick is widely expected to be the German FA’s first-choice candidate to replace Joachim Low as national team manager, with the World Cup-winning coach set to step down following this summer’s European Champions after 15 years at the helm.
Nagelsmann, meanwhile, has been RB Leipzig coach for nearly two years after making a name for himself at Hoffenheim.
The 33-year-old has a 58 per cent win percentage with Leipzig, having won 53 out of his 90 matches in charge.
