Sportsmail reported in January that Emile Rowe was in line to be offered a new £40,000-a-week contract as a reward for his eye-catching performances.

The burgeoning attacking midfielder made his first-team debut for Arsenal in 2018 and has spent loan spells with RB Leipzig and Huddersfield.

After returning from his time in the Championship, Smith Rowe has quickly become a standout performer under Arteta.

‘A lot of things have happened in the last few transfer windows,’ added Arteta.

‘There are a lot of players in various situations. It’s crucial. We want to go to the next level and there are a lot of things we need to do to get there.’
