Arsenal’s chances of signing £60million rated Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic will hinge on their ability to convince the 21-year-old’s agents, according to reports. The Serbian hitman is Mikel Arteta’s top target having starred for Vincenzo Italiano’s side once again.
Vlahovic is currently leading the Serie A goalscoring charts having scored 16 goals and contributed three assists for La Viola.
He has become one of the hottest transfer properties in European football, but the Gunners appear to be doing all they can to sign the predatory finisher.
However, convincing the 14 cap Serbian international and his agents is proving to be a very arduous task for Arsenal.
And reports from Football.London understand the scepticism of the striker’s agents and his apparent reluctance to depart Serie A in January are the biggest obstacles the north Londoners have to overcome.

The striker’s purported £60m price tag is not believed to be an issue for the Gunners, who view him as a long-term replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Aubameyang’s future at the Emirates Stadium appears to be non-existent since Arteta stripped him off the captaincy and jettisoned him from the squad.
While the Gabonese hitman’s relationship with the Arsenal boss appears to be beyond repair, Lacazette and young striker Eddie Nketiah are also expected to depart the club at the end of the season.
Both of their contracts are set to expire at the end of June, which means they will be free to depart the club for nothing when the summer transfer window starts.
And with a potential strikers’ exodus on the horizon, Arteta confirmed the club would not be afraid to invest in the squad, should a target present itself.
“I think with the amount of things and the way that we want to evolve the squad, we have to maximise every window in many different ways and we are alert,” said Arteta last week.
“[Technical director] Edu and his team are working very hard because we know exactly what we need to do, and whether we can accomplish that in January or in the summer, is a different question as it is related to other stuff.
“If it is the right player and we can afford it and we can do what we want to do we will discuss it and make the best possible decision. We are open.”

Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly in the race to sign Vlahovic.
Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici, who arrived from Juventus at the start of the season, is believed to have a close relationship with Vlahovic’s representatives, which could give Antonio Conte’s side a distinct advantage.
But Arsenal and Edu’s apparent maintained push to sign Vlahovic suggests the Gunners will not let their top target slip through their fingers without a fight.
Arsenal stated their intentions early in the transfer window by tabling an offer of £46m and midfielder Lucas Torreira, who is currently enjoying a season long loan at La Viola.
