Arsenal: Arteta tells Lacazette to focus on pitch
Arsenal have now won three Premier League games in a row – but will be looking to make improvements in the January transfer window. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has been linked with Julian Brandt and Emi Buendia as Express Sport looks at the latest news and gossip coming out of The Emirates.
Arsenal advantage in Buendia pursuit
Arsenal remain keen on Norwich star Emi Buendia, although they have not yet made a formal offer.
Buendia has scored seven goals and laid on seven assists for the Championship leaders this season, after impressing in the Premier League last term.
A source close has told Football London that Buendia is “focused on Norwich and getting promoted” – although he apparently refused to rule out a January move saying that “it depends on Norwich”.
The Canaries would want around £40million for Buendia and would not want to sell him midway through their promotion charge – although it has been reported that he could be loaned back to Norwich for the remainder of this season.
And Arsenal could have an advantage in that the agency which represents Buendia has strong connections with the Gunners, having looked after Alexis Sanchez and Emi Martinez at the club in the past few years.

Dortmund name Brandt price
Borussia Dortmund want €25million (£22.5m) for Arsenal target Julian Brandt.
That’s according to a report from Football London, which claims the 24-year-old has emerged as a realistic target as Arteta looks to add more creativity to his squad.
Brandt was left out by manager Edin Terzic for Dortmund’s win over Wolfsburg at the weekend – having featured in all 13 of the club’s previous Bundesliga matches this season.
That has fuelled speculation a move could be imminent. And the midfielder is keen on the idea of a switch to the Emirates, according to German publication Bild cited by HITC.

Edu said: “William experienced a very challenging time last year, with his playing time limited by injury and the early ending of the Ligue 1 season due to the pandemic.
“We will be keeping in close contact with William during his time with Nice and look forward to seeing him make good progress until the end of the season.”
Saliba completed a £27million move from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2019 under Unai Emery, before being loaned back to his former club.
He is yet to make a senior appearance for Arsenal.
