Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hinted that an announcement is imminent regarding his new Arsenal contract. The Gunners captain is believed to have signed a new three-year deal following extensive talks with the club about his future.
Mikel Arteta has been clear from the outset that he will build his Arsenal project around Aubameyang, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 for £56million.
His current deal is set to expire at the end of the season but the Arsenal board have always been confident he would stay put.
Earlier this summer, Aubameyang was holding out for offers from other clubs including Barcelona.
But he is now confident that Arsenal are moving in the right direction under the stewardship of Arteta having already won the FA Cup and Community Shield.

After the game, Arteta offered reassurance that Aubameyang’s contract extension was as good as done.
“I am really positive that we are going to get it done,” he told BT Sport. “Hopefully in the next few days we can get some news.”
Ahead of the match, Arteta had indicated that the deal was finally over the line after months of negotiations with Aubameyang.
“I can say I am even more confident than I was at the end of last season,” the Arsenal manager said.
“Do I think it will be done soon? I am really optimistic, yes.”
When quizzed about the delay, Arteta told supporters: “I think they can be pretty relaxed.”
Arsenal top the Premier League table after matchday one and Aubameyang’s new deal could be confirmed by the time he takes to the field against West Ham on Saturday.
