Arsenal: Arteta provides Partey and Gabriel update
Arsenal and Liverpool are among a number of clubs who have been linked with Brighton and Hove Albion star Yves Bissouma in recent weeks and the Gunners are said to be eyeing a summer move for the midfielder. Bissouma has impressed since making the move to the Amex back in 2018 and he could leave the club at the end of the season.
According to a report from football.london, Arsenal are lining up a summer move for the 24-year-old and they are said to have an edge over the competition.
The report cites a close friend of Bissouma’s as saying that the player ‘loves the Premier League’ and would prefer a move to Arsenal over any over top flight club.
Bissouma is also said to speak regularly with Arsenal duo Gabriel Magalhaes and Nicolas Pepe, who he used to be teammates with at Lille.
The Gunners have made contact with Bissouma’s agent Michael N’Cho and, given Arsenal forked out big money over the summer to sign the likes of Gabriel and Thomas Partey, it is unlikely the club will be able to afford him this month.

Brighton boss Graham Potter recently addressed the speculation surrounding Bissouma, saying: “There have been no approaches.
“As I’ve said before, just because it’s in the media, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true.
“My focus is on Yves and how I can help him improve, and I think he’s still got some improvement to make.
“That’s my focus with him, to try and help him reach his full potential.

“He’s got some work to do yet, so that’s what we are focusing on.”
Potter also believes Bissouma can continue to get better, adding: “I don’t read the papers and I don’t really take something that is reported in a newspaper as a true fact.
“This time of the year all sorts of things are put out there which are sometimes true, sometimes untrue, but it doesn’t help me in any way if I listen to the noise.
“Yves has taken some steps and has improved but also still has some more improving to do, which is exciting and is where the work is, so that is what we will focus on.
“He has had to learn some aspects of the game and improve in certain areas but it is credit to him that he has done that so he can help us in those areas. I think he can still improve, so that’s good.”
Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell believes Bissouma would be the perfect partner for Partey in the middle of the park.
Speaking on Amazon Prime before Arsenal’s 1-0 win over the Seagulls last month, Campbell said: “I think Arsenal could do with a player like him, for sure.
“I think Thomas Partey needs a partner in the midfield with energy and I think that he would fit that bill perfectly.”
