Manu Tuilagi is on course to return from injury in time to face Ireland at Twickenham on Sunday week.
Leicester’s wrecking ball centre suffered a groin strain against France in England’s Six Nations opener and will not feature in training this week.
But Eddie Jones remains hopeful that he will be right in time to play some part in the showdown with Andy Farrell’s unbeaten Irish and has called him back into camp.
Like Tuilagi, Henry Slade has also joined up with the 25-man squad in London but only to work with the medics.
The Ireland game will come too soon for the Exeter star, who scored two tries in the corresponding fixture last season.
But he hinted that he will be back playing soon by posting on Instagram: ‘Not long now’.
Courtney Lawes is rested for the mini training camp but Sale centre Cameron Redpath is invited along. Not Alex Dombrandt though, despite Harlequins’ in-form No.8 being named Premiership player of the month.
