Patriots injury updates: Sony Michel to return vs. Titans; Rob Gronkowski still out

Sony Michel is ready to make his return.

The Patriots running back will suit up for Sunday’s game against the Titans after sitting out the last two weeks.

Rob Gronkowski, however, remains out as the tight end continues to nurse ankle and back injuries. Both were limited participants in Friday’s practice.

Michel has been dealing with a knee injury and last played in the Patriots’ Week 7 win over the Bears on Oct. 21. He has averaged 4.4 yards per carry and rushed for four touchdowns in six games this season.

Gronkowski’s status initially was questionable, though it was later reported that the team is “taking the smart, cautious approach by making sure he’s back after the bye at full strength to close the season strong.”
