Who is Brittany Matthews?
Mahomes met Matthews while the pair were studying at the University of Texas.
Matthews majored in kinesiology and is passionate about health and fitness.
She now runs her own personal training business called Brittany Lynne Fitness, which offers a range of online training programs and gym gear.
The 25-year-old has over 612,000 followers on Instagram, where she often posts pictures and videos of her workouts.
The couple also have two dogs: a pit bull called Steel and a cane corso named Silver.
Mahomes, meanwhile, has signed a record-beaking 10-year contract with the Chiefs worth $500million (£385m).
But the 24-year-old says the new deal will not affect his outlook on the sport.
“I’m going out there and being the same person and same athlete that I’ve been since day one. It’s never been about the money to me,” said Mahomes
“It’s been about going out there and having success and building a legacy and doing it the right way,” he said.
“I feel like now, I have that security knowing that the Chiefs believe in me and they believe in me long term.
“I can go out there and be the person I am on and off the field and have that trust and belief in me the whole time.”
