Michigan NCAA tournament hero Jordan Poole rips Michigan State campus: ‘It’s trash’

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — As if the Michigan–Michigan State rivalry hasn’t already had enough twists, turns and things that have amplified the vitriol and hatred between the two programs in the last week, a little fuel may have been added to the flames from an unlikely source on Monday.

By now, assuredly, you’ve already heard Jim Harbaugh’s comments towards Mark Dantonio regarding the pregame shenanigans. But Monday afternoon, one of the Wolverines’ basketball stars had some interesting comments regarding MSU.

Sophomore guard Jordan Poole is friends with football wideouts Tarik Black and Donovan Peoples-Jones, and has been going to games lately wearing Tarik Black's jersey. On Saturday, he made the short trek to East Lansing to support his friends on the football team, and had some interesting takeaways about his afternoon spent at Spartan Stadium.

“I had never been to Michigan State before, and their campus was awful – it’s trash,” Poole said. “It was just dry.

“Beating them at Michigan State and seeing how wild their fans are, how good it feels to be on the winning end right now and successful – it’s huge.”
