Tiger Woods’ bone broke out of skin and leg shattered, says gory crash report

The full of extent of Tiger Woods' gruesome car crash injuries have been laid bare in a new report – with the golfer's leg shattered and the bone breaking out of his skin.

15-time major winner Woods was involved in a high-speed crash in February when his car flipped in Los Angeles and he had to be pulled from the wreckage by the fire department.

The superstar golfer was transferred to a local hospital and underwent immediate surgery for injuries sustained to his leg – the extent of which can now be revealed.

Under the section labelled "describe injuries", the first responders to the scene listed what they saw when they tended to Woods on the night of the crash.

The report said: "Knocked unconscious, laceration to the lower front jaw, bruised right and left rib cage, fractured right tibia and fibula, possible right ankle injury."

Later in the report, there is more detail about the injury to Woods' right leg, with the document stating: ""open fracture, mid shaft on his right leg, below knee."

Although the crash was deemed an accident, an incident report released from LA County Sherriff Alex Villanueva revealed Woods was travelling an at excessive speed.

Woods responded with his own statement, which read: "In the last few days, I received word from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department that their investigation regarding my traffic accident back on February 23rd in Los Angeles has been completed and closed.

"I am so grateful to both of the good samaritans who came to assist me and called 911. I am also thankful to the LASD Deputies and LA Firefighter/Paramedics, especially LA Sheriff's Deputy Carlos Gonzalez and LAFD Engine Co.

"#106 Fire Paramedics Smith and Gimenez, for helping me so expertly at the scene and getting me safely to the hospital.

"I will continue to focus on my recovery and family, and thank everyone for the overwhelming support and encouragement I've received throughout this very difficult time."
