Khabib Nurmagomedov did not hold back on his analysis of Conor McGregor after the Irishman’s shock knockout loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.
Poirier pulled off the greatest victory of his career by gaining revenge to losing to the Irishman seven years ago by pulling off a brilliant second-round knockout-victory at UFC Fight Island.
And unbeaten Russian Khabib, who has beaten both McGregor and Poirier in the last three years, was highly-critical of The Notorious’ preparation ahead of his first fight in a year.

‘This is what happens (sic), when you change your team,’ Khabib said on Twitter.
‘Leave the sparring partners who made you a champion and sparring with little kids, far away from reality.’
McGregor’s defeat represents a huge setback to his plans to regain his lightweight title.
The Irishman was hoping a victory over Poirier would set up a rematch with arch rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, having lost to the Dagestani in October 2018.
Saturday’s loss, which is McGregor’s first defeat by knockout, leaves questions over his championship prospects.

McGregor responded to Khabib’s tweet in his post-fight press conference, saying: ‘My team hasn’t changed since day one.
‘That’s the character of the man behind the mask….If he wants to have his disrespectful comments, come back and let’s go again my man. That’s fighting talk.’
UFC boss Dana White revealed after McGregor’s shock defeat to Poirier that Khabib had told him: ‘Be honest with yourself, I’m so many levels above these guys.’
Khabib did not sound overly optimistic about the prospect of returning to the octagon after the main event, according to White.
Khabib later posted an Instagram of himself with White and paid tribute to the UFC president
‘I did talk to Khabib [after the fight],’ White revealed, at his post-fight press conference.
‘He said to me “Dana be honest with yourself, I’m so many levels above these guys, I’d beat these guys.”
‘It doesn’t sound very positive so we’ll see. I’ve told you guys before he won’t hold the division up. He’s basically retired…’
