1.45 – SSS SUPER ALLOYS MANIFESTO NOVICES’ CHASE
FUSIL RAFFLES ticks all the boxes. His second to Chantry House at Cheltenham is the strongest form, and trip and ground are perfect for the six-year-old.
Market rival Hitman jumped well at Newbury but beat nothing and will have to improve.
Paddy Power Plate hero The Shunter is improving fast and is the main threat, while the improving Umbrigado looks a bit overpriced.
2.20 – DOOM BAR ANNIVERSARY 4YO JUVENILE HURDLE
It is difficult to ignore MONMIRAL, who missed Cheltenham to wait for this Grade One. He has done everything right and saw off Nassalam with ease at Haydock.
Adagio was an excellent second in the Triumph Hurdle and if he can back up that run, he will serve it up to the selection.
John Locke is interesting and could go well at a decent price.
But Fiveandtwenty, who gets the mares’ allowance, is perhaps the place value for those looking for a horse to chase home the favourite at a nice price.
2.50 – BETWAY BOWL CHASE
A terrific renewal and a chance for WAITING PATIENTLY to grab a second Grade One success.
He has had a typically light campaign with just two runs this season – a fine second in the King George VI Chase followed by a third to First Flow in an Ascot Grade One over two miles.
That trip was clearly too short and today’s sharp track could see him at his best.
Connections have always insisted he wants it soft. I actually think he will be better on decent ground.
Native River will ensure this is a stiff test and could run the stamina out of Mister Fisher, who is trying a new trip.
Tiger Roll is a fascinating runner but looks plenty short enough in the betting.
Real Steel looks the value each-way punt. He is fresh and could pinch a place on the podium at 16-1.

3.25 – BETWAY AINTREE HURTDLE
BREWIN’UPASTORM is tipped to blow away the opposition in the Betway Aintree Hurdle on day one of the Grand National Festival.
Olly Murphy has sweetened up the eight-year-old this season by sending him back over hurdles after a mixed chase campaign.
He has bolted up in his last two races including the National Spirit Hurdle when he beat McFabulous, who reopposes today.
Success for Buveur D’Air would be one of Nicky Henderson’s finest training feats but it is hard to see him winning. Song For Someone has strong claims along with Henry De Bromhead’s Jason The Militant.
There is plenty of confidecne that the longer trip will bring about improvement in Abacadabras but I’m not convinced.
Not So Sleepy is excellent each-way value at 20-1 based on his fifth in the Champion Hurdle when he stuck on well up the hill.
He finished ahead of Silver Streak, who is 16-1 and may struggle to get the trip.
Each-way: Not So Sleepy
4.05 – ROSE PATERSON RANDOX FOXHUNTERS’ OPEN HUNTERS’ CHASE
Billaway, Cat Tiger and Sametegal dominate the market but I fancy TANGO DE JUILLEY at around 12-1.
There was very little between him and Cat Tiger at Leicester and he looks overpriced.
Tartan Snow and Rolling Ball won this race at the age of 13 and this veteran is worth a punt with the capable Lucy Turner on board.
This race often throws up a
big-priced winner so don’t be put off chancing some each-way cash on outsiders.
Golden Tobouggan and Cousin Pascal, both around the 50-1 mark, fall into that category.
TANGO DE JUILLEY
Each-way: Golden Tobouggan
Bookmakers fearing massive loss if one horse wins 2021 Grand National
4.40 – CLOSE BROTHERS RED RUM HANDICAP CHASE
THERE was much to like about the way FRERO BANBOU (nap) coasted home at Sandown last time.
The six-year-old has been walloped with a 13lb rise but Venetia Williams’ French recruit looks totally unexposed.
This is a cracking betting heat with Editeur Du Gite and Grey Diamond both holding strong claims.
And bottom weight Ain’t My Fault is no forlorn hope at a silly price.
Each-way: Ain’t My Fault

5.15 – GOFFS UK NICKEL COIN MARES’ STANDARD NATIONAL HUNT FLAT RACE
EILEENDOVER should win if reproducing the form of her three runs.
Elle Est Belle, third in the Cheltenham bumper, looks very useful, while easy Warwick winner Mansoline is the clear each-way play at 33-1. She is highly regarded.
