Tiger Woods caddies for Charlie Woods who wins tournament with career-best score
Golf legend Tiger Woods has swapped his golf clubs for a golf bag as he caddied for his son, Charlie to reach the Notah Begay III National Championship. The 14-year-old is looking to emulate his 82-time PGA Tour winning father’s achievements on the greens and has already got off to winning ways.
Tiger was seen accompanying his son on the fairway during one of junior golf’s biggest tournaments. Taking part in the 14-15 age division of the Last Chance Regional, Charlie managed to impress in Florida as he recorded a one-under par 71 in the first round.
The young golfer went on to score seven birdies in his closing 66 on his second attempt, which included an impressive ten-foot shot to win by a single stroke. The victory allowed him to qualify for the National Championships.
Following the win Charlie revealed that was grateful to be caddied by his father. “It’s great. We just stay in our own little world,” Charlie told tournament host Ryan Burr.
“We take it one shot at a time. He puts me in my place. I’ll talk about the next tee shot and he’s like ‘No.’ This is the shot we’re going to focus on.”
Reflecting on his performance, Charlie added: “Shooting 68 last year and followed up with 66 this year. Obviously, this course is great for me. You have to go shoot a low round to win this thing, and it’s not going to be given. Just took it one shot at a time, don’t think too far ahead, and you just gotta keep eating. That’s it.”
Charlie will next be in action at the Notah Begay III National Championship at the Coushatta Casino Resort in Louisiana on Nov. 4.

Tiger hasn’t played since being forced to withdraw from the Masters at Augusta National back in April with an injury. The 41-time European Tour winner revealed that he suffered with a plantar fasciitis in his foot.
But it appears that the golf legend could be making a surprise return to action having recently been spotted back on the fairways. Tiger was recently spotted at Liberty National in New Jersey alongside fellow PGA Tour stars Will Zalatoris and Rickie Fowler.
Woods is yet to provide an update on his injury but will surely be hoping to grace the greens before the year is out.
