Tyson Fury shows off giant black eye after controversial win vs Francis Ngannou
Tyson Fury was seen sporting a massive back eye following his controversial victory over Francis Ngannou.
The Gypsy King narrowly avoided an almighty upset by beating his Cameroonian-French opponent via split decision, despite being knocked off his feet a couple of times. Ngannou performed better than anyone expected him to, and many felt he was robbed of a victory after bettering Fury in a number of rounds.
Speaking the day after the fight, a swollen-faced Fury insisted he didn't underestimate his opponent. "You can't take anything away from Francis Ngannou," the 35-year-old said. "He's a good fighter who gave me a very good fight, and that was it.

"I trained very well. I prepared very [well]. I don't have any excuses or anything. It's boxing. Some days you have good days [and] some days you don't."
Fury stressed that it was the press, not him, who doubted Ngannou's credentials, adding that he was fully aware of what the former UFC heavyweight champion could bring to the table. "When you get the media saying it's a mismatch and it's not worth watching, usually you're in for a tough night," he continued.

That being said, Fury did concede his timing was off – something he blamed on being out of the ring for nearly a year. "There was a little bit of ring rust," he admitted. "It was far from one of my best performances. It wasn't a vintage Tyson Fury."
The undefeated Manchester-born fighter has agreed to face fellow undefeated heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, who was at ringside in Riyadh, in a potentially generation defining clash. A date was initially set for December 23, though recent reports suggest the bout will be pushed back to 2024, with January and April earmarked as potential replacement dates.

In spite of his bruised face, Fury insisted he wasn't hurt and that he'll be in perfect shape when the Usyk fight rolls around. He also labelled it "the fight of the Century" and urged his Ukrainian foe: "Get yourself prepared and we'll put the biggest fight of our generation on for the undisputed championships of the world."
