Joe Joyce takes on Carlos Takam in a heavyweight bout at SSE Arena, Wembley in front of a capacity crowd on July 24.

The British heavyweight contender is keen to maintain his undefeated record, and take one crucial step to a mandatory shot at WBO world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in his next fight.

Joyce has already dethroned one of his domestic rivals in the blue-ribbon division, stopping Dubois in sensational fashion in the tenth round, despite being labelled as underdog in the build-up.

This time Joyce will put his WBC Silver and WBO International heavyweight titles on the line, with the coveted prize a shot at world-stardom, but will face a very real challenge in former opponent of Joshua and Chisora, Takam.

What time is the fight on?

The fight will likely begin between 10:30 and 11pm with overall coverage of the event starting at 7:15pm.

This does depend on the duration of the undercard, with fights often going the distance and interrupting the initial schedule.

Joyce believes Takam is the experienced name he needs to progress.

"I have accepted the fight with Takam because he is a good name, an experienced fighter, he’s strong and always comes to win. It’s going to be a great fight.

"I am totally focused on Takam. He’s not a southpaw, he’s orthodox and I am confident of my ability in this fight.

"He is a short fighter in stature so will want to get in range, throw those big dangerous hooks and get under my jab.

"It’s going to be a difficult fight."

The Juggernaut also set his sights on Anthony Joshua, but remains focused on the job at hand.

“It’s such a great opportunity. I just can’t wait to get in and beat Takam," Joyce said.

"So no mistakes, I just have to go in there and give it my all and get the job done.

“I have to deal with what’s in front of me. You can’t be thinking too far ahead because that’s when you end up getting caught.

“The Emirates is an amazing stadium, Joshua here would be a great one for the history books.

Carlos Takam is prepared to spring a shock on fight night.

“Joe Joyce is not the best fighter I have fought but I am going to be the best fighter Joe Joyce has fought," Takam said.

“He is a good opponent for me to come back to the UK. London is like my second home. Fans there are waiting for me, every day they’re writing me ‘Carlos, when you come back in London? When will you fight back in London?’

“I have time to prepare for this fight and I am going to go and win the fight.

"This is a good opportunity for me to come back home and to come back up in the heavyweight division.
