Now 2020 is out of the way, we can look forward to 2021 with hope that boxing continues to fight on.

At Queensberry, we will be doing our best to make that happen.

Of course, we are still waiting on when we can get big crowds back into arenas and stadiums to ensure the best fights get the atmosphere they deserve.

But the planning and plotting continues for now and we hope to begin the year with Carl Frampton going for a world title in a third weight against Jamel Herring.

That fight for the WBO super-featherweight title could take place in February over here in the UK.

The big one that everyone wants to see is Tyson Fury against Anthony Joshua to decide the undisputed heavyweight champion.

Talks are continuing as we plan when and where to stage one of the biggest fights in British boxing history.

Of course, I'm backing Fury to come out on top in that and prove what I believe that he is the best heavyweight in the world right now.

But there will be plenty going on in the division other than that fight.

After his win over Daniel Dubois, Joe Joyce will be pushing for his world title shot or some very big fights and we will be delivering that for him.

There will be no holding back when the opportunities come now for the Juggernaut.

Dubois will make his return after he recovers from his eye injury and I am backing him to have a strong 2021 as he soon as he is able to get back out and fight.

One loss will not decide the future of a young man I still consider to be one of the brightest prospects in the sport.

Lyndon Arthur will be in the market for some big fights after his win over Anthony Yarde and the light-heavyweight won't be far off a world-title shot in the next 12 months.

While Yarde – like Dubois – will get on the road back to the top very soon.

And I know Anthony really wants the rematch with Lyndon, so that’s an intriguing domestic clash the fans can look forward to in 2021.

At Queensberry we pride ourselves on developing young talent, and we have a roster of rising stars who are set to break through over the next 12 months including Dennis McCann, Willy Hutchinson and Hamzah Sheeraz.

Expect those names to be more widely known over the next year.

It hasn't been the easiest of years for anyone but we have battled through it.

Happy New Year to all the readers and I hope 2021 is a much better one for all.
