One of the boxing’s greats has shared a childhood photo in the build-up to his latest fight at the end of the month.

The 33-year-old posted a throwback photo on Instagram, which showed him wearing an orange shirt and white shorts.

A training photo was included in the same post with the boxer donning similar clothes in the gym.

The photos were accompanied with the caption ‘Some things never change’.

Fans were quick to comment on the success the child pictured in the photograph would go to achieve, with star now viewed as one of the best pound for pound fighters in history.

The boxer has won multiple world titles across four weight divisions during their career, spanning from light middleweight to light heavyweight level.

He is also the only boxer in history to become undisputed champion at super middleweight.

The fighter is none other than Mexican superstar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Alvarez posted the photos ahead of his super-middleweight fight against Jermell Charlo.

The contest will take place in Las Vegas on September 30.

Alvarez will head into the fight holding the holding the WBO, IBF, WBA and WBC belts.

His last fight came against Britain’s John Ryder on May 6 this year, where he won by a unanimous decision in front of more than 50,000 people in Guadalajara, Mexico,

The victory improved his overall career record to 59-2-2.

In his career, Alvarez has had 63 professional fights and won 59 of them, losing just two – first against Floyd Mayweather in 2013 and then against Dmitry Bivol in 2022.

Jermell Charlo will be stepping up two weight divisions to face Canelo, with the American currently the undisputed light middleweight world champion.

The 33-year-old has won 35 of his 37 fights, with one draw and a single loss to his name.

‘It’s a good fight, it’s been talked about since a long time ago, and now I’m in PBC I think it’s a good fight for the fans,’ Alvarez said earlier this month about the fight.

‘I just like fighting, I like boxing and I like what I’m doing right now – making history.’
