Miguel Cabrera's roller-coaster ride with an ex-mistress may not be over as a judge is now reconsidering whether the Detroit Tigers slugger should pay the woman $20,000 a month in child support.
Cabrera has argued that that is too much and amounts to palimony, so the judge has decided to reconsider the amount.
Cabrera is contesting a December court order to pay Belkis Rodriguez $20,000 a month for the two children he fathered with her during a secretive relationship that went on for years. Cabrera also was ordered to pay off her nearly $1 million home in Orlando by this summer, pay for the children's private education, health care and entertainment, including annual Disney World passes.
But in an order issued Wednesday, the judge said he would reconsider the monthly child support payment to Rodriguez, who had initially asked for $100,000 a month as Florida law allows that much given Cabrera's $30 million annual salary. What she ends up with, however, could be substantially lower than the $20,000 figure the judge came up with in December.
