James DeGale explains why he will beat Chris Eubank Jr

James DeGale has predicted he will deliver a "12-round schooling" when he takes on Chris Eubank Jr.

The British rivals clash on February 23 at The O2 in London with the loser surely facing retirement.

And DeGale is confident his class will prove the difference on the night.

"This is going to be a 12-round schooling," he told ITV Boxing . "He’s tough and he’s durable so it’s going to be tough to stop him – but don’t rule it out.

"This is going to be a schooling, he might have patches of success but not much. I’ll beat him and I’ll beat him well.

"I see weaknesses and I see how I’m going to beat him. Chris thinks he’s better than he is.

"A fit, healthy self with skills, ability and fitness beats Chris Eubank Jr.

"Prepare yourself, Chris, and good luck – you’re going to need it."

Eubank Jr has fought just once since he was beaten by George Groves in the World Boxing Super Series 12 months ago.

He refuses to consider the possibility of defeat and insists he will prove he belongs at the elite level.

Asked why he is so confident, Eubank Jr said: "Dedication to the game, I live the life.

"This is a fight the fans have been calling for, that I’ve wanted for years.

"It’s almost here all that’s left is to go in there and throw those bombs, just fire away. You’re going to try and run but eventually you’ll tire and I will stop you."

DeGale vs Eubank Jr will be shown exclusively on ITV Box Office. Click here to order.
