Texas guard Andrew Jones, sidelined most of two years since being diagnosed with leukemia, put a finer point Thursday on a CBSSports.com report, citing coach Shaka Smart, that he has been fully cleared for all basketball activities.
“I have been cleared the entire time, just not rushing back,” he tweeted in response.
Either way, it’s good news for the Longhorns.
Jones, who was Texas’ leading scorer at the time of his diagnosis 10 games into the 2017-18 season, missed the rest of that season and all but two games of the 2018-19 season as he underwent treatment and recovered.
